  • Our team is all about sprinkling your dream style into every nook and cranny, even if it's playing hide-and-seek on our website. Think of us as your style fairy godparents – we take your fave elements and mix them with our magic touch to create spaces that scream 'you'! Every client is a star in their own design show, and while your budget sets the stage, we're here to make your design dreams come true without breaking the bank. Let's make some fabulous happen!

  • We pour our hearts into creating design plans that'll knock your socks off! But hey, we get it – sometimes an item might not spark that 'wow' moment for you. No sweat! Our design fee's got you covered with a bit of wiggle room for a 3 re-selections per room. Need more tweaks? No prob! We charge hourly for the extra sourcing time, but this is just to make sure we're all making the best choices without getting lost in too many changes.

    Just a heads-up, though – let's try not to backtrack on major early decisions like floor plans when we're onto the next phase of choosing furniture.

    The good news? We hardly ever have to charge this fee because a few adjustments usually do the trick.

  • The process typically involves an initial consultation to discuss your goals, budget, and vision for the project. From there, our team will create a design plan that incorporates your preferences and objectives. Once the design is approved, we will begin procurement (purchasing) which can take several months depending on the scope of the project. During this time we update you biweekly on the status of your shipments. Once we have the last tracking number we schedule installation!

  • We believe good design is for everyone so while we specialize in high-end residential projects we also love to work with clients on a smaller scale.

  • The simple answer every step of the way equalling to about 2-5 hours per room, per phase. If additional time is needed you can schedule a project check-in at any time from our portal.

  • Are you the kind of person who likes to be involved in every step of the design process, or do you prefer to just sit back and see the results? It's important to know your preferences before reaching out to an interior designer, as they may not be able to adapt their methods to fit your needs.

    That being said, when working with me, I value collaboration and want my clients to love every aspect of their design. However, I do prefer to take the lead and select everything for you, presenting it in a "Bippity-boppity-boop" ✨ moment. Before we get started, I take the time to truly understand your style, needs, and goals. This way, I can confidently choose the perfect elements for your space. Sometimes, if I'm unsure about a particular product, I like to share options with my clients for their input. However, if you struggle with decision-making or find it difficult to trust my choices, it can hinder the creative process. Remember, you hired me because you needed help making decisions, so let me guide you through the design journey. Together, we'll create something truly amazing!

  • At Gem Design House, trade discounts in Interior Design industry are not a major client concern. Our strong relationships with retailers and suppliers allow us to access great prices. Trade discounts range from 5% to 50% off retail prices. How these discounts are handled varies among designers, with some splitting it with clients, others passing it entirely to clients, and some keeping it as income.

    We have found a system that works well for us and our clients. It's called the 50/50 split.

    Here's how it works: we keep 50% of the trade discount as a procurement fee, and pass 50% of the discount to the client. This means that our clients not only get their design fee back but also have the chance to save some money. With our 50/50 approach, our initial design fees are affordable for the average homeowner. We want to provide great design services that are both affordable and beneficial to our clients. We carefully choose suppliers and retailers that offer big discounts, so you get the most out of your budget.

    Our focus is on giving you a beautiful and functional space that reflects your style and needs, while also getting your design fee back in the end via furnishing savings.

  • • What is your budget?

    It’s okay if you don’t know your budget but you should give us the max amount you are willing to spend for your dream space. Knowing this will help us create a detailed scope to either focus on one room or give you more bang for your buck. You can also take this handy budget quiz

    • What design style do you like or have in mind?

    This can be very general. We have worked with a ton of clients who have had a mish-mash of styles. Check our this review from one of our indecisive clients. If you truly have no idea of what you like, we will get inside your head in the beginning phase of the design project.

    • Will you want to remain in the home during the design?

    • Is there anything you absolutely do not like?

    • What is your timeframe

    • Have you worked with an interior designer before?

  • Being efficient is of the utmost importance to us. All clients are invited to the client portal where you are able to chat directly with us, view the schedule and keep a record of all documents we exchange. If the client portal isn’t your thing then you can reply to the messages directly via email.

    In addition, we have several meetings schedules for each phase of the project. Our meetings and phone calls are recorded and then uploaded directly to your portal.

  • I offer a number of services depending on my client’s needs. They are:

    • Interior Consulting is available by the hour or as the Design Dash (a 6-hour intensive) to those who need advice on their home improvement, paint selections, or to figure out their own style.

    • Interior Styling as the Bespoke Blueprint to those who need the bits and bobs to pull their look together (art, rugs, decor etc).

    • The Bespoke Blueprint is great for those who don’t live in the Bay Area, California, or those wanting a full furnishing service with less hand-holding than Interior Design (more cost-effective).

    Full Service Interior Design (The Signature Transformation) is for those who require a full design service from cabinetry design, wall/floor/window treatments, spatial planning, furniture and decor.

    I have had clients book a clarity call thinking they needed Interior Design Service but after our first chat, I figured out they only needed E-Design or Consulting. I’ll help you find the most suitable way of working together.

  • At Gem Design House, we make sure to include accessories for all of our projects in the original quote. We believe that the little details can truly make a difference in bringing your vision to life! A few weeks before the big installation day, we'll set up a meeting to discuss and review the styled accessories with you. This meeting is the perfect opportunity for you to confirm your preferences and even add any last-minute touches that you may want. To make things smoother, we kindly request that payment for accessories be settled prior to this meeting. If, during the sourcing process, we come across any additional items that you may love, don't worry! We'll notify you and include them in the final bill once sourcing is complete. We strive to ensure complete transparency and keep everything as hassle-free as possible for you!

  • Absolutely! We're thrilled to offer a wide range of high-quality fabrics that are both durable and pre-treated. These fabrics are designed with advanced technologies that make them resistant to stains, liquids, odors, and fading from UV rays. As professionals, we pride ourselves on selecting the perfect fabric for each client's specific needs and space.

  • We understand the importance of finding the perfect custom furniture tailored to your needs. We collaborate with reliable manufacturers to ensure top-notch quality. While we don't offer physical testing*, some pieces are available in our showroom for sitting and testing. We aim to deliver furniture that exceeds expectations in quality and craftsmanship.

    *In some circumstances there may be the option to sit test furniture at local showrooms.

  • Monday - Thursday 8am - 6pm.

    We observe all public US and Mexican holidays. We close for three weeks in the summer, three weeks in the winter and one week each in the fall and spring.

    If something truly urgent comes up outside of our business hours, we will be there for you.

  • We'll take care of sourcing and liaising with tradespeople, organizing deliveries, being on-site to accept packages, and even providing storage in our warehouse. Our goal is to streamline the process so that your deliveries can happen in a single, stress-free day. Just let us know how much help you need, keeping in mind that more assistance may come at a higher cost. We're here to make your project journey as smooth and effortless as possible.

    Now, let's chat about your part. It's super helpful if you could do a bit of homework on tradespeople too. After all, you're the one who will be hiring them! And when it comes to making those tricky decisions onsite, don't stress – we are there to guide your hired tradesperson through it all, from cabinetry designs to the final delivery schedule.

    My clients often give me a thumbs-up for being on the ball with timing, keeping things organized, and staying in touch every step of the way.

  • We trust our instincts. It's important to us that our first conversation leaves us with a good feeling. If we sense that you're not fully committed and won't trust our decisions, it’s likely that the project wont meet either of our expectations. We take pride in every project, and we can't put our name on something that you'll want to change later. This design journey is a collaboration that requires your trust in us. If we don't believe we can achieve the look you want within your budget, we’ll have to politely decline. I'll also have to pass on projects that feel rushed because quality takes time. Lastly, if your design style doesn't align with my strengths, I'll have to say no to that, too.

    With full service design, we are working together for around 1-3 years. Finding an interior designer should be an exciting experience and our relationship should be mostly fun and enjoyable and we want that for our team, too. Where there is no trust, there is very little room for creativity and collaboration.
